禪，簡單的說：是一種過程，

Simply put, Chan is a process.

於此過程中，

In this process,

所有的思想和表現，

All of one’s thoughts and expression

而完成智慧的結晶，

Culminate in the result of wisdom

圓滿徹然的覺悟。

Which leads to perfect and thorough enlightenment.

人在得意時，總是迷失的；

People are easily lost when they are intoxicated by their triumphs and success.

但在失意的時候，

Only when they are deeply frustrated and defeated

才懂得冷靜下來，

Do they start to understand the importance of keeping their heads cool

如何去迎接無數個明天！

To deal with whatever may happen in numerous days to come.

就像是做錯了什麼的人，

It is like when people have done something wrong,

會想方法去彌補自己的過失一樣。

They will try to find ways to atone for the wrong.

救濟不當，

If charitable donations for the poor are not made or managed properly,

每每幫助人懶惰；

It may result in turning some people into lazy ones who depend solely on others’ donations.

救急沒有不當，

However, it will never be inappropriate to make donations for those who are in need

in times of emergencies.

而且必能救苦救難！

Donations in such cases will definitely relieve the desperate ones of their plights and miseries.

但是，社會上只有太多的救濟機構，

Nevertheless, only charities for the poor are found in every corner of our society.

卻找不到一處救急的地方！

Nowhere can we find an organization dedicated to help people who, out of some emergencies,

are desperate in need of help only for the time being.
