其實得失之間

Why do you entrust

何必將一切託付給命運

Whatever you will gain or lose to the Fate?

如果能把已得者珍惜

If you can cherish whatever you have obtained

未得者追尋

And make efforts to acquire whatever you aim at,

即使剎那間無常來到

Even if Death comes by surprise in an instant,

仍舊是於心無愧

You will still have no regrets about your whole life.

如果，你有時間與精神

If you have time and energy

為那些毀謗，侮辱，邪惡的事

To feel deeply hurt and angry

而傷心，而憤怒

At those which are slanderous, insulting, and malicious,

那麼，你為什麼沒有時間與精神

Why don’t you make good use of those time and energy

去注入知識，充實自己

To infuse yourself with knowledge and wisdom and make yourself perfect.

疾病是健康的破壞者

Ailment is the destroyer of one’s health.

小人是君子的毀損者

A wicked person is a demolisher to an upright and decent person.

但是，健康經得起考驗

Nevertheless, if one develops immunity against all kinds of diseases,

疾病也是無可奈何

No ailment will have any effect on one’s health.

同樣，君子有其實力

In the same way, if an upright and decent person has a very strong and sound mind,

小人永遠只是小人

A wick person, however he may try, will produce no harm to the upright and decent person.
